Newsletter
The Sidelight Brief is sent by Buttondown, an email newsletter service. When you sign up, your email address and the IP address you signed up from go to Buttondown. Buttondown uses the IP address to spot spam signups.
We use your address only to send the Brief. Nothing is sent until you confirm your address from the email Buttondown sends you, and every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Shop orders
Checkout runs on Stripe Managed Payments. Your name, email, billing country and payment details go to Stripe and its merchant of record service, Onelink, which processes the payment, works out the tax and sends your receipt. Card details never reach this site.
After payment, your email address is used once to send you a link to your order page. That email is sent through Resend, an email delivery service.
What the site itself needs in order to deliver your downloads, and how long it is kept.

Analytics
Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and builds no profiles. Visits are grouped with an anonymous code made from the request, which resets every day, so you can’t be followed from one day to the next or across other websites.
Your theme choice
If you switch between light and dark, the choice is saved in your own browser. It is never sent to us.
